Nadine Earles was not yet five years old when she died in 1933. It was December, and all she wanted for Christmas was a doll house, a wish her father was busy working to fulfill for her. She died on the 18th, one week before the day.Her parents still made sure that her wish was granted, even if it was to be in the afterlife.
At the Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett, Alabama, that doll house (now made of brick, to ensure its longevity), stands among the gravestones, completed and moved to the family plot to keep “Little Nadine” company. The small brick bungalow has all the makings of a real house, with a front porch, striped awnings, a mailbox, flower boxes in the summer, and an evergreen wreath and Christmas lights in winter.
After the house was installed, parents Julian and Alma filled it with a collection of dolls, toys, a baby buggy, a high chair, all to be kept neat and tidy for Nadine. (Note: what might appear to be a bed is in fact her gravestone.)
For years after her death, Julian and Alma handled the upkeep and stocking of toys. Eventually they passed away, and are now buried in the same plot alongside the little house. The city has since taken over upkeep of the dollhouse. To this day, it’s manicured, cleaned, and tended, with the array of dolls and toys updated as they were when Nadine’s parents tended it.
As Christmas neared, Nadine was given some of her presents early, but mostly she wanted the playhouse. Alas, Nadine succumbed to the disease on December 18. Immediately after Nadine's death, her grief-stricken father tore down the playhouse and began rebuilding it on her gravesite in Oakwood Cemetery.
Little Nadine's Grave is the grave of Nadine Earles. The grave has a doll house built over it. Nadine died, of diphtheria, when she was 4 years old, a week before Christmas. Her father hired a contractor shortly after her death to build the doll house that Nadine always wanted.
Nadine's death is similar to Maggie's death in Child's Play, as she was also pushed out of a window by Chucky. He also said the same dialogue to her that Andy told Maggie: "Aunt Maggie, Chucky wants to watch the 9 o'clock news". Nadine's death is a reference to the sculpture Pietà, made in 1499 by Michelangelo.
3 - Nadine got the scar on her chest/neck area from a knife fight when she had just begun her career as her father's successor in Shoreline. It took a lot of coaxing from Chloe to get her to tell the story, but she did eventually reveal the cause.
St. Clair County Sheriff Mat King on Friday confirmed the woman found inside the submerged vehicle as Nadine Moses, 84. A blue Ford belonging to Moses was recovered from where the St. Clair and Belle rivers meet.
Patsy Cline is buried at Shenandoah Memorial Park, 1270 Front Royal Pike, Winchester (Patsy Cline Memorial Highway). Fans can pay tribute to Patsy at her final resting place and see the bell tower that stands in her loving memory.
After her remains were cremated, a portion of her ashes were placed in a wall crypt at Hillside Memorial Park and another at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The busy roadway between Rancho Mirage and Cathedral City was named Dinah Shore Drive in her honor.
