My overall experience attending Central High School for the past four years has definitely been one to remember which includes both good times and bad times. Good times include pep rallies, games, parades, cheering, student council, and other fun activities. However, the bad times includes the noneffective metal detectors, only being able to enter and exit two doors, the administration over the senior class in particular this current school year who has not done little to nothing as far as senior activities, the violence, and more. But overall Central did provide a pretty good college readiness experience and helped me to break out of my shell and meet some really good people over the past four year no matter their ethnicity because they are also really big on diversity.

My experience with Central High School honestly went pretty well. I made wonderful friends and connections that I am sure will follow me for many years to come. Most of the teachers are pleasant and determined to push us students to strive for our best without seeming demanding or scary. They are genuinely good people I will most likely remember for the rest of my life. And there is so much diversity ranging from African Americans to Muslim, Asian, Filipino, Hispanic, you name it! My time at Central THE High School was pretty great. Of course, every school has its downfall. Not every teacher was amazing, and I'd rather not remember them; multiple fights could happen anywhere at any time of the day. The food was atrocious and could definitely be put in the top five things that should be revamped in the school, and so on and so forth. Overall, just like any school out there, it can have ups and downs, but as long as you find your own standing, you'll be right as rain!

The worst part about my experience is that the school is very unorganized . Almost everyday something is going on and the teacher and administrators does not know what’s going on because no one is communicating with one another . Also the school is not update because of the county so the bathrooms are nasty , classroom are too plus they are also no update so the roof half falling apart . Some teacher are good so are not just have to find your way around but they have a lot of sports and activities. The overall score of the school I would give if a (3).

The best part were all the fun activities. The worst part is some things the do last minute or not at all. Stay on top of everything is some things they need to work on !

Central has really prepared me for things I should expect in college. The high workload and thesis involved during my senior year really put into perspective what I should anticipate. I definitely wish the sports sector received a little more funding although central is primarily an academic school, but it would allow more high academic kids to continue with their dreams to play at a competitive level as well.

Academically Central has been great. Their teachers and administrators are very involved and helps the students succeed. The school is a very old school and could use some updating but they keep the facility clean. I have been pleased with Central High.

The best parts are the teachers are very helpful it’s easy for you to get along with them. The worst part is we have a little time to make it to our classes including having a bathroom break in between our class periods.

Central is an overall good school. They offer many college level and college credit classes and you can tell that most of the teachers are very knowledgeable in their fields. There is a smaller student population compared to other schools so its more of a closer community and teachers are very kind. But you might occasionally have a really bad teacher, or experience with rude students.

Central was a great school, it was a very fun and interactive space for me to grow and learn. I made lots of friends and was heavily involved in the school community. It’s a very welcoming space and I loved every moment of it.

Student life at Central High School can be described as the movie “Mean Girls.” I say this because cliques are real in high school. You have your jocks, wannabe mean girls, “nerds”, etc. If i had to give a grade for high school, I would give it a C. This is because after my 9th grade year in 2019-2020 everything changed. Covid had just hit which meant we were confined to our house and with that came virtual school. I noticed my work ethic changed and i started to slack with my school work. The transition back to school was difficult for me. I just had no motivation for school anymore. My senior year came and I told myself that i can’t slack off anymore because it’s crunch time and I stuck to that. I graduated Central High School with a 4.3 and all I can say is that I’m proud of myself!!

So I had my freshman year online, it was my hardest year and my worst year. Once 10th grade started, I tried to be involved in almost everything. I joined the band and I did colorguard. I had a lot of fun being in band and it made me see the school differently. Junior year I continued to stay in band and I joined our yearbook club. It got me more involved in the school. I took pictures of school events, I kept records of school games, I did everything. My Central experience has been so good so far since I have gotten involved. I am now going to the 12th grade and I am very excited to be involved in absolutely everything.

Well, central is an all-around good community for you kids. They have many clubs, sports, and new languages for kids to learn and experience. I joined the flag team and learned Latin when I went to central and I had a wonderful experience.

This school is very focused on school spirit, and students are eager to represent their school. The school has a lack of classes for more specialized fields like computer science or cooking. There could be a few more language classes too.

Central was all about school spirit and the students were also very eager to represent their high school and show it off in its best light. The class selection is decent, but sorely lacking in certain specialized fields like computer science, cooking, etc. More language classes would also be nice

The school is very conservative and display signs of favoritism. I would not recommend this school to other people. The administrators care more about the teachers than the students and rarely give students a voice. If you want quality education, this school is only for those who have no choice.

A very supportive staff, good people. Great marching band. Lot of stairs though! One of the oldest high schools in Memphis. Therefore it is the high school.

My high school experience was average. The school had lots of clubs and activities for student to do. They also gave us information on how it would be when we prepared for college. Although the pandemic brought many challenges I feel like they handled it very well and didn’t make excuses for it. Everyone was able to get they work done and the teachers were all able to get it back on time. The administration is also very good they keep everything in order and make sure the students there are same and doing their work. The teaches have a relationship with the students that makes them want to learn and be taught more. The students get their work done and are able to help their peers. Even if everyone is passing the teachers still give out extra credit for them to be added on to future work. The teaches take time with each student to make sure they are getting their work done and even offers extra help for those falling behind.
